On the morning of December 26, 2009, I woke up to the most excruciating pain I have ever felt in my life.

The pain was in my neck and radiated down my left shoulder and arm, plus traveled down the left side of my back under the shoulder blade.  At times, there was pain in my chest as if I was having a heart attack.

Thankfully, it wasn’t a heart attack but a slipped, or herniated disc in my cervical vertebra (neck).

As a woman of God, firmly believing in the power of prayer and the Word of God for healing, I immediately set those things in motion.  Although I know Jesus is my healer, manifestation does not always come immediately.  (No fault of His however)

I suffered in agony for 24 hours.  When I couldn’t take it anymore, I went to the emergency room hoping to get some relief while I wait for the manifestation of my healing.

There, I got an anti-inflammatory, muscle relaxer, and powerful narcotics for the pain as Tylenol and Advil did not work at all.

With rest, and these medications, I received some relief but not much.  This misery went on for a month and all the while I am thinking,

“I need to get a massage and chiropractic adjustment”.

Although, I was noticeably improving every day, due to my praying, believing God and resting, I still was in quite a bit of discomfort.

I decided to go to my doctor before I looked in to chiropractic.  She prescribed physical therapy, which I was glad about because I had lost feeling in my fingers and strength in my left arm and hand.

She also scheduled and MRI, but warned against chiropractic for fear of damage resulting in surgery.  Well, I didn’t want that.  So, I happily went away, looking forward to my physical therapy treatments.

Physical therapy was not to be.  She called me almost immediately after my MRI with bad news.  Apparently, the doctor who read my MRI, said that the bulging disc was almost completely cutting off all the nerves and if I did not have surgery to remove the disc, I would lose all feeling in my left side.

She said I had to stop doing everything I was doing, (not even drive) and put my neck brace on and keep my neck totally straight.  Oh, and physical therapy was out of the question.  She said the other doctor claimed the disc would not get better on its own.  She wanted to refer me to a neurosurgeon right away.

This report is from the same health professional who warned against chiropractic because it could lead to surgery.

“But I’ve been improving every day.”  I thought.

In my mind, surgery was not an option.  I have seen too many people miraculously healed from the same and similar conditions within minutes.  Plus, in my own life, I have, on many occasions prayed and received healing.

Why should this be any different?

I hung up the phone and made a decision.  I prayed and I thanked God for the healing I already had and declared that I would not be having surgery but would comb the scriptures and find every verse on healing that had to do with bones.

I also told God that I would trust him to confirm His Word and by the time I met with the surgeon, the disc will be back in place, my spine would be properly aligned, and there would be no surgery.

Next, I got online and did some research.  God led me to an awesome resource for healing back pain.  Even without doing the things they suggest, within a week, all my pain was gone and now, I have all the feeling back in my fingers.

Needless to say, I don’t need that surgery.  Plus, I haven’t needed those medications for weeks.

The resource I found for back health and healing is great because I discovered that  my spine has been compromised for a while and the disc was probably herniated for a long time, and finally hit nerves.

I found out that muscular imbalances was wreaking havoc on my spine and although God has healed me, I still need to do some things to keep it from happening again.

So what was my herniated disc natural cure?

1.  Rest, relaxation and sleep

God designed your body to heal itself.  It’s hard for it to do that if it’s not getting the rest it needs.  I had to take it way easy during the day and make sure to get good sleep at night, keeping my neck straight.  During sleep is when the body does most of it’s healing and recovering so good long-term R&R is a must.  I continued to do my normal activities as I was comfortable, but no over exertion.

2.  Take good vitamins and drink lots of water.

One mistake I was making was not regularly taking enough vitamins, plus my water consumption was down.  The spine is only as good as the muscles that hold it up.  When muscles are tight, pain results.  Not drinking enough water leads to muscle tissue that resembles beef jerky rather than soft, supple tissue.

3.  No lifting

Obviously, I did not want to re injure myself so very little lifting, even now, and when I do, I am very conscience of how I lift and how much.

4.  Do the exercises outlined in Lose The Back Pain

5.  Pray and stand on the Word of God

As I mentioned earlier, I found scriptures relating to health and healing, particularly focusing on bones.  Next, I prayed in Jesus name, believing I had received my healing.  Last, I speak and confess those  scriptures three times per day, actually speaking to my spine, commanding it to realign itself and commanding the disc to move back into proper position.  I continue to do this for every aspect of my health.  You can find the scriptures I use in the “Healing Prayer” section above.

These are the things I’ve done, and continue to do to enjoy relief from pain and regain my quality of life.  There really is a herniated disc natural cure.

Finding natural ways to heal disease and relive pain is definitely worth the effort.  I encourage you to do whatever research you need to do to find natural, safer remedies for what ails you.

Once you are better, or if you are already healthy use these remedies to enjoy better health and never get sick again.
